Multifunctional complex in railway area in Zelenograd. Version 1

The projected complex is located at area “Kryukovo” of Zelenograd administrative district, Moscow, Russia, along the Oktyabr’skaya railway (direction Moscow - St.-Petersburg). In site territory now situated temporary car garages meant to be pulled down, with placing lost parking places in the projected multipurpose complex.

The area of 5 hectares is located in an industrial zone along the Oktyabr’skaya railway. The basic idea of the architectural decision is the complex of the buildings united by the general transitions. Main is two high-rise buildings, which are the Hotel and the office center. Between them the chain of buildings connected with each other is planned. According to the general plan, separate buildings of all complex are united in almost continuous structure with a dynamical profile.

The complex represents a multi-part volume which outwardly seems consisting of the strips of floors bent under acute angles. Actually, the construction can be divided on three-floor stylobath, where 4 different-heighted buildings are shown. Highest of which reaches 63 meters of height. The stylobath part consists of three parts: two land-leveled covered buildings of garage complex at 180 and 230 parking places and the entertaining complex building with open three-level 300-place parking.

The building of the entertaining complex has three floors. Bottom - underground at level of -11,7m concerning a wearing floor. Here are: the shooting gallery, rock climbing gym, cafe and technical cells. Level land on a mark of -7,5m concerning wearing floor level. In it 4 cinema halls (2 at 140 places and 2 at 216 places), bowling, billiards, showrooms and night club are settled down. In the top part of the entertaining complex, on a mark 0,0 trade lines, a restaurant court yard, a children's game room and administration settled down.

From the ground level and parking places by lifts or stairs it’s possible to get on a maintained roof of stylobath where the walking zone is organized and front entrances of hotel, office center, an entertaining complex, the fitness center, shopping center and driving school are located. At the same level there is a bus-stop of public transport.

The office center building (19 floors, 63m of height) continues the building of the entertaining center and includes office premises, presentation halls, conference halls and banquet rooms. The office center entrance is at the mark 0,0.

The hotel building (11 floors, 44,8m height) with an inhabited part on 76 rooms also includes restaurant on the ground floor, a conference hall, currency exchange branch and parking. Rooms of the hotel are separated from premises of restaurant and the main hall by a technical floor.

The hotel complex is connected through a winter garden to the fitness center which has two entrances: its own and shared with shopping center one.

The shopping center is located in the same building as a hotel complex with the fitness center but has two independent entrances, separate premises of loading-unloading and the parking.

The driving school building makes a final element in a projected complex. It has two levels. The building structure includes studying classes, rooms with educational training equipment, teacher's rooms and administration premises. The special square size of 100x54.5 meters concerns driving school and uses for a practical training of pupils.

The project provides building of the automobile bridge above the railway which can incur a part of loading of city traffic at rush hours. The bridge is designed 1180 meters away from Kryukovo station towards St.-Petersburg. It has a convenient arrangement and communication with the central city streets. The bridge connects with the Filaretovskaya Street on the one hand and on Novokryukovskaya Street on another. The bridge descent gets on a platform along the complex, which mark of the ground level is +7.5 meters. An entrance in the complex and a mark of absolute zero are at the same level. Also at level the drive along the projected multipurpose center with turn and arrival possibility on a platform and the bridge are planned. The platform goes to the bridge under construction at present above a minor railway and connects to it by means of additional traffic intersections.

The solution of foot communications is carried out by the elevated pedestrian crossing coming to a multipurpose complex and on projected platforms of the railway on the one hand and in a complex of the projected market building on the other hand.

Also the project provides placing the railway platforms in territory of the entertaining complex that will provide good availability of the multipurpose center not only to townsmen, but also to its visitors.

The general plan provides an accomplishment of territory and creation of an additional walking zone: system of park paths, zones of gardening, and elements for rest.

The organization near to territory of a projected complex of transport structures that doubles basic city streets will unload them and the system of foot movement will provide communication between the areas separated by the railway.

In due time railways and stations have made huge impact on development planning structure of cities, have made conditions to formation and development of new city areas, based economic, social and political activity. Today it’s necessary to revalue the potential and city-forming functions initially meant for railway territories, to refuse the meaning of them as the minor or wasted city territories. Their use should be considered as the important component of city programs of reorganization inhabited and industrial regions, developing of a natural complex, improvement of a transport infrastructure and saving historical and cultural heritage.
